SAN JOSE, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2026) – Bay FC bested Racing Louisville FC 2-0 Sunday at PayPal Park, earning the club its second straight unbeaten result. A pair of goals after halftime by forwards Karlie Lema and Alex Pfeiffer put the club ahead after a scoreless first half, and the club never looked back. A clean sheet on the back end marked the club’s seventh of the 2026 season, a new club record.
“Really pleased with the win tonight and the clean sheet,” said head coach Emma Coates. “I think that does a lot for the team and the confidence. I actually thought we probably could have and should have scored more, I thought we created a lot of good chances. Second half, I think we were just a little bit tired, and probably the three-game week probably caught up with us.”
Bay FC dominated the run of play to open the contest with over 60% of the possession balance. Early chances began to stack up, and the club nearly netted the opener in the 13th minute. Defender Aldana Cometti got on the end of an in-swinging corner kick and headed it towards goal, but saw her attempt blocked. Lema put her right foot on the rebound and nearly sent the ball into the back of the net but missed just high of the bar.
The club kept its press on the visitors and came close to another goal ten minutes later. An intercepted clearance fell to midfielder Taylor Huff in the 21st minute, who played ahead to forward Alex Pfeiffer for a shot at goal from the right flank, but Louisville’s backline would send the ball away. The club recycled play to midfielder Hannah Bebar in the middle of the pitch, whose cross to forward Racheal Kundananji was headed at goal but stopped by Louisville goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer.
Midfielder Claire Hutton came inches from a goal in a second consecutive match just before the halftime break. A combination with Kundananji on the left found her space on the edge of the penalty area with the ball at her feet, but her strike at goal hit the side netting
Bay FC was rewarded for its persistence coming out of halftime, netting the opening score just five minutes after the start of the second half. A low cross by Kundananji was sent into the back of the net by Pfeiffer for her fourth score of 2026, breaking the deadlock. The score was Pfeiffer’s first since March 28 at North Carolina, when she tallied a goal and assist in the club’s Week 3 victory over the Courage.
Lema doubled the club’s lead six minutes later as a spell of high press put Louisville on its heels. Another cross from Kundananji was blocked by a defender and cleared off the line, but Lema intercepted the clearance and put it into the back of the net. The score marked the Morgan Hill native’s seventh goal of the season, tying the club record for goals in a single regular season set in 2024. Lema was lifted for forward Cristiana Girelli in the 64th minute, finishing the match with five total shots.
Goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz entered the league history books ten minutes before the final whistle. A leaping stop to deny a Louisville free kick just outside the penalty area marked her second of the day and 100th of the 2026 season, making her just the sixth goalkeeper in league history to log 100 saves in a single regular season. She sits in reach of the all-time league record of 113, set by Houston’s Jane Campbell in 2024.
Bay FC plays at home again next week, welcoming the Orlando Pride to PayPal Park for another Sunday matinee Sept. 27. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. PT, and the match will broadcast live on ESPN. The club will celebrate Latino Heritage alongside the match, featuring a rebranded FanFest, and special activities featuring local community organizations, performers, matchday content and merchandise.
