Potter was named Bay FC’s Sporting Director in December 2024. He joined the club ahead of its inaugural 2024 season, first serving as technical director before transitioning to Head of Football and Interim Sporting Director during the second half of the campaign.
Potter joined Bay FC after two seasons as Head Coach of the Kansas City Current, where he led the club to the 2022 NWSL title game in his first season. Prior to becoming a coach and executive at the professional level, he was one of the most successful coaches of his era in the college ranks, leading Washington State (2003-11) and Oklahoma’s (2011-19) Women’s sides from 2003-2019 and reaching the NCAA tournament five times. He has experience as a coach and scout at the game’s highest levels, serving the U.S. Women’s National Team as an assistant and scout as it claimed the 2019 Women’s World Cup title. He was the head coach of the U-23 WNT from 2020-2022, overseeing the development of some of the top young prospects in the federation's player pool.
Emma Coates
Head Coach
Coates joins Bay FC after serving as head coach of England’s Women’s Under-23 team, where she led the squad since 2023. She has built a reputation for her emphasis on individual player growth, culture building and modern, possession-based football.Under her leadership the England Under-23 team went unbeaten in their 2023-2024 European league campaign, with over 25 players making it to the senior squad during her tenure.Coates, who holds a UEFA Pro License, was part of the extended technical team for the England Lionesses’ reign as back-to-back UEFA Women’s EURO champions in 2022 and 2025 and their appearance in the World Cup Final in 2023.
Gemma Davies
Assistant Coach
Gemma Davies is an experienced coach with leadership roles across the English women’s game and the professional ranks. A former head coach in the FA Women’s Super League with Aston Villa Women, she also guided England’s U23s within The Football Association pathway. Known for her detail-driven approach and commitment to player development, Davies brings tactical expertise and international experience to Bay FC’s technical staff, supporting match preparation and elevating performance standards across the squad.
Jen Klein
Assistant Coach
Jen Klein serves as Assistant Head Coach, bringing more than two decades of collegiate coaching experience to the technical staff. Most recently the head coach at Michigan Wolverines women’s soccer, Klein built a nationally competitive program in the Big Ten Conference, earning multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and conference championships. Recognized for her leadership and commitment to holistic player development, Klein adds extensive match management experience and a proven track record of building high-performance environments at the highest levels of the college game.
Erin Ridley
Assistant Coach
Erin Ridley serves on Bay FC’s technical staff, supporting training design, match preparation, and individual development across the squad. She brings 20 years of coaching experience across the collegiate, professional, and elite youth levels, including 11 seasons as a Division I women’s soccer assistant coach and head coaching in the WPSL. Ridley spent seven seasons with the SJ Earthquakes Academy, where she was recognized as the first female head coach in a MLS Pro Academy. She was most recently the head coach of the U16 boys, and has served as an assistant coach within both U.S. Soccer’s Men’s and Women’s Youth National Team programs. She holds the U.S. Soccer A License and is the first American woman to earn the French Football Federation’s Elite Formation Coaching License (EFCL) and has served as an MLS Continuous Professional Development (CPD) instructor.
Sam Raper
Goalkeeper Coach
Sam Raper serves as Goalkeeper Coach for Bay FC, overseeing the development and performance of the club’s goalkeepers within a high-performance NWSL environment. Raper has built a reputation for his detail-oriented training methodology, technical expertise and ability to prepare keepers for the demands of elite competition. He leads position-specific sessions, integrates goalkeepers into the team’s tactical framework and plays a key role in match preparation, ensuring consistency, confidence and command from the back line. Raper also manages the development and training of the club’s attacking and defending set plays.
Andy Spence
Assistant Coach
Spence joined Bay FC in April 2026 as an assistant coach after serving as Director of Methodology at Gotham FC in 2025. The Liverpool, England native has spent over two decades in player development at the game's highest levels, previously serving the Canada Women's National Team and the women's program at all levels for Everton FC. With Gotham FC, Spence won the 2025 NWSL Championship and 2024/2025 Concacaf W Champions Cup under Head Coach Juan Carlos Amoros.
With Everton, he served the club's youth development system before joining the first team staff, helping the club to the 2008 League Cup and 2010 FA Cup titles before taking the first-team manager role in 2012. He was named the 2017 FA WSL Coach of the Year after guiding the Blues to the WSL Spring Series title. Internationally, Spence has served as an assistant coach for England's U-19 and U-21 squads and was a member of Canada's Women's National Team staff from 2022-24, including a stint as interim head coach at the Paris Olympics. He holds a UEFA A License (2011) and UEFA Youth Diploma (2018).
