Bay Celtic U11 played Quay Olympic last night at Clancy Park in their first ever game under lights. The game was well attended and the supporters who braved the very cold conditions were treated to very even match where both teams had their share of chances. The game ended in a draw which was a fair result, all things considered.
The draw for the Challenge Cup Competitions took place on Monday 20th of March. The draws favoured the Bay Teams.
In the Under 11 first round Bay Celtic are drawn away to Quay Olympic. Bay are ahead of Quay on the League table and have beaten their opponents in their only encounter. Bay United have a home draw with Rangers. Bay are above Rangers on points but suffered a one gaol to nil defeat at home in their last encounter with the Armagh Road side.
In the Under 13 draw Bay United got a Bye into the quarterfinals where they will meet the winners of Quay Celtic or Glenmuir Celtic. Bay will be the fancied team in that encounter.
In the Under 14 draw Bay United have home advantage against Muirhevnamor. Bay beat their opponents last year on their way to the final where they narrowly lost to Monaghan United. This year results have been going against Bay and their opponents will take to the pitch as favourites. The Bay boys are a good Cup side however and they will want to repeat their success of last year and go one better this year.
Good luck to the Bay teams in the Cup Competitions from all their supporters.
