Bay FC has 4 players tied for leading goal-scorer with 3 goals apiece: Racheal Kundananji, Asisat Oshoala, Joelle Anderson, and Tess Boade. With offensive contribution spread across several players, it’s always exciting to see who might score next.

Bay FC beat Louisville 1-0 in their first meeting this season on Saturday, June 29.
Players to Watch:
Bethany Balcer joined Louisville via trade with Seattle Reign FC. A former NWSL Rookie of the Year, Balcer is one of the leading goal-scorers in the NWSL, with 5 goals this season and 33 in the past 5 years.
Ángela Barón recently joined Racing Louisville from Atlético Nacional in the Colombian first division. She was called up for Colombia’s appearances in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, as well as the first rendition of CONCACAF W Gold Cup. She has yet to make her NWSL debut, but could be an exciting player to watch.

Counting Down with Bay FC:
Bay FC welcomed 3 new players during the NWSL’s secondary transfer window: Defender Abby Dahlkemper from San Diego Wave FC, Goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz from Kansas City Current, and Forward Penelope Hocking from Chicago Red Stars. All 3 players bring new strengths to the Bay that will be essential as we push for a strong finish to our inaugural season.

Orlando is the NWSL’s only unbeaten team and currently sits at the top of the table.
Players to Watch:
Barbra Banda is one of the most exciting new talents in the NWSL this year and fellow Zambian international alongside Bay’s Racheal Kundananji. She is currently second in the NWSL Golden Boot Standings with 12 goals and 5 assists and was named Player of the Month in May.
Marta is an NWSL and Brazililian soccer legend. She is Orlando’s second-highest scorer, with 5 goals this season.
At the Stadium:
Visa is helping celebrate youth soccer by “Inspiring the Players of Tomorrow” on September20. Together with Visa, Bay FC will give back to the community and support the next generation of soccer stars in the Bay Area.

Goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland has kept 2 shutouts this season, blanking Louisville and Angel City in back-to-back matches for Bay FC’s first consecutive wins.

Bay FC will welcome former defender Kayla Sharples back to PayPal Park. Sharples was a key part of Bay FC’s inaugural season, starting in 12 matches and scoring 2 goals.
Players to Watch:
Temwa Chawinga currently leads the NWSL Golden Boot Race with 14 goals and 6 assists in her first NWSL season. Chawinga represents Malawi in international play and previously scored a brace against Bay FC in their first matchup this year. She was named NWSL Player of the Month in June.
Bia Zaneratto has featured for Brazil in four FIFA Women’s World Cups. She has 5 goals and 4 assists for the Current, and was named the NWSL’s Player of the Month for March/April.

Bay FC is honoring Latino Heritage at PayPal Park on October 12. We’ll celebrate the rich Latino culture of the Bay Area with special experiences throughout the matchday.

Bay FC has scored 1 penalty kick so far this season, with Asisat Oshoala taking the historic strike to earn Bay an important 1-0 victory on the road against Louisville.

Bay FC’s Abby Dahlkemper won two NWSL Championships and three NWSL Shields with the Courage during her time with the team from 2017-2020.
Players to Watch:
Ashley Sanchez is having a strong year in her first season with North Carolina, with 4 goals and 3 assists. She previously won the NWSL Championship with Washington Spirit in 2021 and has made several appearances for the U.S. Women’s National Team.
Casey Murphy is one of the strongest goalkeepers in the league and is a huge part of North Carolina’s strong defensive stats – across the NWSL, they have the third fewest goals against and are tied for the third most shutouts. She recently won a gold medal with the U.S. Women’s National Team at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
