Bay FC Teams Up with Trader Joe’s for Back-of-Kit Jersey Placement and Founding Partner Sponsorship

Multi-year sponsorship includes a strong focus on children’s nutrition and well-being

SAN FRANCISCO, (September 6, 2024) – Bay FC, the new women’s professional soccer franchise representing the Bay Area in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), today announced a multi-year partnership with Trader Joes, a national chain of neighborhood grocery stores. Trader Joes is a Founding Partner of the team and will work closely with Bay FC to get involved in Bay Area neighborhoods by fostering community and supporting hunger-relief organizations that positively impact the lives of neighbors across the Bay Area. Trader Joe’s logo will be featured on the lower back of the team’s on-field jerseys.

“We could not be more excited to welcome Trader Joe’s to the roster of Bay FC partners. Their investment represents an incredible commitment to fueling our players, fans, and communities one neighborhood at a time,” said Bay FC Senior Vice President of Revenue Heather Pease.

Trader Joe’s and Bay FC are also partnering to advance support for children’s nutrition and impact local communities off the pitch to address food insecurity in the Bay Area. These initiatives include Kick Hunger powered by Trader Joe’s, where Trader Joe’s will donate $250 – up to a maximum of $25,000 – for every Bay FC corner kick earned this season. Donations will go to local organizations that help Bay Area youth by providing access to nutritious meals and opportunities to be active in their everyday lives. Trader Joe’s will also provide wholesome snacks or food vouchers for youth community groups in attendance at each Bay FC home match.

To kick off the sponsorship, Bay FC’s updated kits including the Trader Joe’s logo will be displayed at tomorrow evening’s home match at PayPal Park against Racing Louisville FC. The match will provide fans with opportunities for various giveaways, including a reusable Northern California-themed Trader Joe’s bag for the first 5,000 fans through the gate. In addition, Trader Joe’s representatives will be on-site in the FanFest providing fans with a “spin-to-win” giveaway for fan favorite snacks through halftime.

“Trader Joe’s is thrilled to partner with Bay FC. Our alliance with this impressive team will give us an opportunity to strengthen our longstanding relationships with customers throughout the Bay Area, and help us make meaningful progress toward ending hunger in our communities.” said Trader Joe’s Regional Vice President Alexis Walsh.

Trader Joe’s joins Sutter Health, Visa, and Sixth Street as current jersey sponsors with Sutter Health as the front-of-kit sponsor, Visa as a jersey sleeve sponsor, and Sixth Street now as back top of the jersey.
