Alongside her community leadership, Racheal Kundananji represented Bay FC on the league stage at the 2025 NWSL Skills Challenge in San Jose on Saturday, Nov. 29.
The Skills Challenge included three events, each testing creativity, technical ability and teamwork.
- Gauntlet: one player tries to score on five mini goals against four defenders, the smallest goal is worth the most points and vice versa, and if a goal lights up, any points scored are worth double at that time.
- Relay Rumble: three-part relay race including agility poles, tire runs, and a giant skee-ball chip shot where teams compete to earn as many points as they can within five minutes.
- Crossbar Challenge: players try to hit the crossbar from 18 yards out, and when they reach five total points, they go to the “Championship Zone” 36 yards out, one more crossbar connection makes said team Skills Challenge champions.
She competed as part of Team Black alongside some of the top players in the NWSL:
- Riley Tiernan from Angel City FC
- Ally Schlegel from Chicago Red Stars
- Delphine Cascarino from San Diego Wave FC
- Carson Pickett from Orlando Pride
Kundananji helped the team to a strong comeback effort that secured them as the 2025 NWSL Skills Challenge Champions. She showed up and showed out for Bay FC! Don’t miss the chance to cheer on Bay FC’s stars in the future. Make sure to come out to the next NWSL Skills Challenge when a Bay FC player is representing, and show your support.
