This is the time of year when the game slows down just enough to appreciate the people who make it meaningful. Between the training and the excitement of a long year at PayPal Park, some of the players took a moment to reflect on their support systems who keep them going through it all.
Jordan Silkowitz: “I’m most thankful for my family and the incredible people I have in my life.”
Tess Boade: “I’m most thankful for my Bay FC girls. They’re all incredible; we have such a close-knit group, and I’m going to miss them in the off-season.”
Caprice Dydasco: “I’m so thankful for my health and my family. They’ve supported me throughout my whole career. And my husband.”
Penelope Hocking: “I’m really grateful for my friends and family. They’re always at every game, supporting and cheering me on. It’s always nice to see them in the stands because I know they’ll love me no matter what. As hard as soccer and my job may be, they always remind me it’s not as big as I make it. So, I’m really thankful for my family – my really loving and supporting friends and family.”
Maddie Moreau: “I’m thankful for the girls who I love. Our fans are amazing, no matter what is happening – I’m grateful for that, and my fiancé. I’m getting married, so I’m excited about that, so I’m grateful for her.”
Penelope Hocking: “I’m just thankful that I can play the sport I’ve dreamed of playing and that I’m healthy. And the soccer community is so much bigger and so much more connected. It’s brought so many cool people in my life, so I’m very thankful that I’ve had very good support off the field as well.”
Abby Dahlkemper: “I’m really thankful to have amazing humans as teammates – I’m really thankful for them.”
Gratitude lives at the center of Bay FC. The players feel it every day, and the Bay Area fans match it with their wholehearted support. Together, they make the NWSL season worth every moment.
Happy Thanksgiving! From, Bay FC.
