The match is Bay FC’s final home match prior to a pause in the NWSL regular season for the Olympics. Washington travels to the Bay after a 1-0 loss at home to the North Carolina Courage on June 29. The Spirit have several exciting Olympians on their squad, including USWNT players Trinity Rodman and Casey Kreuger. Spirit Head Coach Jonatan Giráldez will make his sideline debut in the match. He joins the opposition from FC Barcelona Femení, where he led a roster that once included Bay FC’s Oshoala.
Bay FC enters Saturday on a two-match winning streak, shutting out both Angel City FC and Racing Louisville FC in consecutive matches. After stringing together strong defensive performances, Bay will look to further ignite their offense. Last weekend, Oshoala scored the first Bay FC penalty-kick goal in franchise history against Louisville to secure the win. Kundananji will be available for selection after serving a one-match suspension for yellow card accumulation, ready to once again provide speed and dynamism up top alongside Oshoala.
