Bay U11 progress in the SFAI National Cup
The Bay United Under 11 team have successfully progressed to the last 32 in the Menton-Seery SFAI National Cup. They beat Athboy Tigers in sudden death penalties following a thrilling game that ended 2 - 2 after extra time. Ronan Dillon scored early in the first half to give Bay the lead but Athboy drew level early in the second half and went in front with ten minutes remaining. Dillon brought the game to extra time when he scored a cracking equaliser in the last minute of normal time. Team Captain Aidan Sheekey made a number of fine saves in the penalty shoot out and Paraic McKeever sealed the win when he slammed his sudden death penalty to the net. Man of the match was awarded to Bay defender David McCarthy. Bay have been drawn to play away to Wolf Tones of Bray in the round of 32
