This Sunday, September 21 at PayPal Park, Bay FC will host an evening of entertainment to celebrate Latino Heritage Month. Bay FC and Gotham FC players will share the pitch with live performances, art and activities, all part of the way to honor the contributions of Hispanic culture in the United States.
Latino Heritage Month is observed from September 15 to October 15 in the United States. This annual recognition celebrates the extensive history and culture of Latinos. In similar spirit, Bay FC is proud to continually honor the Bay Area’s rich Latino community, and will do so in a unique way at this Sunday’s match against Gotham.
Latino Performances and Activities at PayPal Park
PayPal Park will feature talented Latino performers and activities, all alongside a fast-paced NWSL match.
Latino Night’s celebration will be kicked off by Mariachi Tapatio who will be performing prior to the match on the corner of Wondo Way and Earthquakes Way at the PayPal Park stadium. Drawing from the traditions of mariachi music in Jalisco, Mexico, Mariachi Tapatio has delighted audiences for over 40 years with their unique sound. They are passionate about sharing their family tradition of authentic mariachi music with the Bay Area. Alongside their performance will be a lowrider from Blvd Bombs Car Club.

Tomborazo Los Kachoorros will get fans out of their seat during FanFest with their rhythmic music. Tamborazo is a lively Mexican music genre that combines the traditional sounds of brass instruments with the percussive beats of the Tambora drum.
La Doña, a San-Francisco based Mexican-American singer-songwriter will also perform during FanFest at Bay FC’s match. She is a multi-instrumentalist who combines corrido, bolero, cumbia and mariachi sounds with Frisco hip-hop and reggaeton.
Presentation High School Folklórico Group will showcase the art of Folklórico dance. Folklórico means ‘Dances of the People’ and encompasses a wide variety of traditional dances from Mexico’s different regions. Their club represents more than the dance itself, but the celebration toward their community. The group highlights the unique backgrounds of each girl while creating a strong sense of community and shared creativity. Together, they reflect the spirit of their big folklórico familia — joyful and grounded in the traditions they share at home.
In addition, Bay FC is thrilled to welcome back the talented singer Ysenia Martinez to perform the National Anthem at PayPal Park. Yesenia is a Bay Area local with strong Latina roots who has performed at high-profile venues throughout the Bay Area.
Lastly, Grupo Los Laureles Folklórico will keep the pulse alive during halftime. They are a leading dance school based in San Jose breathing life into Mexico’s artistic traditions. What started off as dancers coming together to commemorate their heritage has now become one of the most recognized performing arts companies in the Silicon Valley area and beyond. They have created halftime performances for the NFL, the MLB and this weekend, we welcome them back to PayPal Park.
Head to the spirit station at FanFest two hours before Bay FC’s match to brush up on your Latino Heritage knowledge. Create your own Papel Picado, a traditional Mexican art form made by cutting intricate designs into sheets of tissue. Also, color your own Latino Heritage sign, crown or flag.
Limited-Edition Bay FC Merch for Latino Heritage
In honor of Latino Heritage Night, Bay FC collaborated with artist Rose D’Amato. She is drawn to decorative folk arts, hand-lettering and the iconic imagery tied to her upbringing and family history of pinstriping. The lettering for the shirt was inspired by the traditional paint styles seen on lowrider cars, customized cars that emerged from Hispanic culture.
This exclusive Bay FC merch will make its debut at all-team locations at PayPal Park, with 10 percent of Sunday’s proceeds from the Latino Heritage items being donated to the Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley. LCSV is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that has been providing Latinas with civic engagement and leadership development in Silicon Valley since 1999.

On-Field Play
The on-field action between Bay FC and Gotham FC will be just as engaging as the performers at PayPal Park.
In Bay FC’s previous regular season match, the club played to a 1-1 draw and split the points with Orlando Pride. Bay FC’s goal came just before the halftime break when an errant Orlando clearance was collected by defender Caprice Dydasco. Dydasco sent it back into the mix and Racheal Kundananji delivered the header for a 1-0 lead. The score marked Kundananji’s third of the season and eighth all-time with Bay FC, cementing her as the club’s all-time scoring leader in regular-season play. Orlando leveled the match just tenminutes into the second half with a goal from forward Aly Watt. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, thanks in part to Bay FC goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz who put on a stellar performance and tied her career-high of seven saves.
In Gotham FC’s previous match, they earned their first-ever road win against San Diego. This moved Gotham FC into third place in the league standings while Bay FC sits at position 12.
Earlier this season, Bay FC faced Gotham FC in New Jersey to close out the first half of the 2025 NWSL season. Bay FC scored first with a goal from forward Penelope Hocking, but the hosts quickly responded in the second half. Gotham’s Esther Gonzales tied the score first. Then, Gotham FC pulled ahead when a bouncing ball skipped past Bay FC’s backline and was tapped in by forward Gotham forward Geyse.
