Wrapping Up Pride Month with Bay FC

This June, Bay FC celebrated Pride Month to honor the 2SLGBTQAI+ community through education, visibility and joy, both on and off the pitch. Our celebration embraced the power of sport to advocate for inclusivity.

Here is a look at how we showed up throughout the month.

A Celebration of Identity and Inclusion

Pride Month is recognized each June to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising of 1969, a pivotal moment in the LGBTQ+ rights movement. What began as an act of resistance against discrimination has since grown into a global celebration of identity and representation. The Bay Area has long been at the heart of this movement, with cities like San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose advancing equality through grassroots advocacy and community support.

Here’s what Pride means to Bay FC players:

Bay FC Drops 2025 Pride Collection with Queer Artist Orlie K.

This year, Bay FC dropped the new 2025 Bay FC Pride Collection, designed by Bay Area native, queer artist and Bay FC supporter Orlie K. The collection celebrates diversity, inclusion and the love for football. To make our celebration even more impactful, 10% of net profits from Pride merchandise sold in June were donated to the San Francisco Spikes, a nonprofit 2SLGBTQAI+ adult soccer club dedicated to promoting diversity and community through sport.

Pride in full swing at paypal park

Our Pride celebration reached its peak at the Bay FC Pride Match on Saturday, June 7, as we faced off against the Portland Thorns at PayPal Park. Fans, players and performers came together to celebrate Pride with passion.

The first 3,000 fans through the gates received an exclusive Bay FC Pride bandana, created by local queer artist and Bay FC supporter Orlie K. The Bay FC Pride bandana is a wearable tribute to the strength and beauty of the 2SLGBTQAI+ community.

The matchday experience was brought to life with live performances and community-led activations. Drag artists Edgar and Silvanna Danniels lit up the stage, while In Lak’ech Dance Academy delivered energetic cultural dance performances. Fog City Harmonia added to the celebration with a moving choral performance.
