While the NWSL season is on pause, players from across the league have scattered to join up with their respective national teams during the most recent FIFA international break from May 27-June 4. Scarlett Camberos, Savy King and Lysianne Proulx are all away during this period to represent their countries at different levels.
Camberos and Mexico will square off against Proulx in Canada, playing a pair of international friendlies. Canada is continuing its preparation for the Summer Olympics, as the squad as the reigning gold medal winners from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Both friendlies are set to take place in Canada with the two teams first meeting in Montréal, Québec, on Saturday, June 1, at the Stade Saputo; kickoff is set for 11 a.m. (Pacific). In the second meeting, the Concacaf foes will be in Toronto, Ontario, for a match at BMO Field slated for a 4:30 p.m. (Pacific) kick time.
King made the short trip south to Los Angeles to join up with the U.S. U-20s, as they continue their preparations for this summer’s 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which is set for this fall in Colombia.
The USA will face South Korea, which will also be participating in the upcoming World Cup, on Friday, May 31 and Monday, June 3. Both matches will take place at the Dignity Health Sports Park Track & Field Stadium and will kick off at 3 p.m. (Pacific). For any fans in the area, admission to the matches is free and open to the public.
Following their time with their respective teams, Camberos, King and Proulx will also return to join Bay FC ahead of their next match on June 8 against the Chicago Red Stars.
