Match Preview: Bay FC at Seattle Reign FC | September 29, 2024

Bay FC (8W-12L-1D; 25 pts) travels to take on Seattle Reign FC (5W-11L-5D; 20 pts) at Lumen Field on Sunday, September 29 at 3:00 p.m. PDT. This is Bay’s second matchup against Seattle in their inaugural season, with the first match resulting in a 3-2 win at PayPal Park on April 14. The match was Bay FC’s first home win and included a stoppage time game-winning goal by Joelle Anderson.

This match also marks Bay’s last outing without defender and first-round 2024 NWSL Draft pick Savy King available, who recently won the bronze medal with the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Since their first meeting, Seattle has undergone a few roster changes, including the notable acquisition of Jaelin Howell from Racing Louisville FC in exchange for Bethany Balcer and sending Sofia Huerta on loan to Olympique Lyonnais.

After a closely contested 1-0 loss against league-leading Orlando Pride last weekend at home, Bay FC will be seeking a result on the road. Before their match against Orlando, Bay FC strung together consecutive results against Portland Thorns FC, Racing Louisville, and North Carolina Courage. Leading scorer Asisat Oshoala scored goals against Louisville and North Carolina to bring her season total to 5 goals. Since June, Bay has only lost one match on the road and will be looking to notch another strong performance on Sunday.
