at Kansas City Current

Bay FC heads to CPKC Stadium Saturday, May 11 for a 09:50 a.m. PT kickoff on ESPN against Kansas City Current, and the players have redemption on their minds. In the 2024 NWSL season, Kansas City edged Bay FC 1-0 at PayPal Park in October. Kansas also secured a 5-2 win at CPKC Stadium in April. Bay FC is determined to flip the script in 2025.

Kansas City kicked off the NWSL season in top form. Their team features standout players, including defender Izzy Rodriguez and midfielders Debinha and Lo’eau LaBonta who were named to the NWSL Best XI of the Month for April. Forward Temwa Chawinga is also a dangerous presence in the attack and is the reigning NWSL MVP and Golden Boot winner.

Bay FC boasts game-changers of their own. Racheal Kundananji brings international experience and explosive pace. Kundananji is on a hot streak, scoring her first goal of the season against Seattle and assisting Karlie Lema’s goal against San Diego for consecutive scoring contributions. In goal, Jordan Silkowitz consistently delivers spectacular stops, including saving the first penalty kick she’s faced in NWSL play against San Diego last week. The upcoming match will be Silkowitz’s first time facing her former club, Kansas City, since joining Bay FC.
