Bay FC announces 2025 preseason roster

San Jose, Calif. (Jan. 27, 2025) Bay FC, the women’s professional soccer franchise in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), announced the team’s current roster as the club opens the 2025 preseason today. The initial roster consists of 25 players who will take part in the club’s preparations for its second NWSL season, set to kick off in March.  

22 players from the club’s inaugural season return under contract, including standout players Tess Boade, Emily Menges, Racheal Kundananji, Asisat Oshoala, Alyssa Malonson and Abby Dahlkemper. 

The club’s two new signings, Morgan Hill, Calif. native and 2024 ACC Offensive Player of the Year Karlie Lema, and three-time All-American at Tennessee and Florida State Taylor Huff, will each join the team after signing their first professional contracts. Lema joined Bay FC Dec. 30 from Cal, and Huff joined Bay FC Jan. 8.  

Forward Catherine Paulson is in camp with Bay FC as a non-roster invite. Paulson joined Bay FC during the 2024 season as a National Team Replacement Player while defender Savy King represented the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team at the 2024 FIFA U-20 World Cup. She signed a contract to remain with the club through the end of the 2024 season in October. 

Bay FC’s preparations for the 2025 season begin today, Jan. 27, as the team hosts its first official training sessions. The club will train in San Jose through Feb. 7, before traveling to Santa Barbara, Calif. for a week of sessions from Feb. 8-14, and Indio, Calif. from Feb. 16-22 for the 2025 Coachella Valley Invitational. In Indio, Bay FC will take on a pair of NWSL foes in exhibition matches, lining up opposite Seattle Reign FC Sunday, Feb. 16, and San Diego Wave FC Saturday, Feb. 22. Both of Bay FC’s matches at the event will be open to fans, with passes on sale at CoachellaValleyInvitational.com.  

The 2025 NWSL regular season will kick off March 16, with Bay FC opening its campaign on the road against the Utah Royals at America First Field in Sandy, Utah. The club will play its first home match on March 22, vs. Racing Louisville FC at PayPal Park. The club’s full 2025 schedule is available now at BayFC.com.
