Bay FC’s Home Opener vs. Denver Summit | March 14
Bay FC kicks off its home schedule against new expansion side Denver Summit in what promises to be a compelling and hard-fought contest. Here’s why you should be in the stands.
Reason 1
Emma Coates will make her NWSL regular season managerial debut at PayPal Park. She will lead the Bay with her distinctive coaching style refined by years of player development within in the English national team system. Fans will get their first look at her approach on March 14.
Reason 2
Claire Hutton was acquired from Kansas City Current for $1.1 million, one of the highest transfer fees between two NWSL clubs and among the largest for any women’s player worldwide. The home opener will mark her first opportunity to showcase what she brings to Bay FC’s midfield.
Reason 3
Duda Pavão takes the mic as in-stadium host, and her passion for women’s football will make for a top-notch experience for Bay FC fans. She is a trusted voice who has commanded some of the world’s biggest stages and will lead activations throughout the March 14 match.
Reason 4
Clarie Hutton, Brooklyn Courtnall and Sydney Collins will arrive to PayPal Park carrying valuable match fitness from the 2026 SheBelieves Cup. Midfielder Hutton was recently named to the United States National Team Roster, as well as defenders Courtnall and Collins who were both named to the Canada National Team roster. That competitive sharpness positions them well heading into Match 1.
Reason 5
The atmosphere inside PayPal Park on Opening Day carries an added layer of excitement with Karlie Lema, Onyeka Gamero and Alex Pfeiffer entering the season having bolstered their credentials on the international stage. Lema was selected to join the U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team for training camp and friendly series in Miami, Florida while Gamero and Pfeiffer were invited to the U-20 Women’s National Team training camp in Chula Vista, Calif.
Reason 6
Onyeka Gamero was cleared from a season-ending injury and already recorded a goal contribution in a preseason friendly. In the Coachella Valley Invitational against Houston Dash, she drove past three defenders toward the endline before picking out Hannah Bebar who finished crisply to complete the play. Fans may get to see that impact in person at Bay FC’s Home Opener.
Reason 7
A touch of pre-existing chemistry finds its way to the Bay as former Kansas City Current players Alex Pfeiffer, Claire Hutton and Jordan Silkowitz reunite together at PayPal Park. After their time playing for Kansas City Current, all three now find themselves in the same jersey once again. For a team already rich in connection, adding three players who arrive with a ready-made bond could make the whole group even harder to break down.
Reason 8
Keira Barry landed at Bay FC by transfer from Manchester United after rejecting multiple WSL offers to reunite with Head Coach Emma Coates. Her presence at PayPal Park will offer the first indication of how a player of her caliber fits within the club’s system.
Reason 9
Anouk Denton, who joined Bay FC from West Ham United, adds a second English international to the club’s backline. The home opener provides fans a real time look at how she might fit into the defense.
Reason 10
Jordan Silkowitz will return to PayPal Park more prepared than ever with new international experience that raises her performance behind a reconfigured defensive line. She earned her second USWNT senior call-up in January, once again earning a spot in the national team’s training camp.
Reason 11
The Bay Area is the place to be right now. With the 2026 Super Bowl taking over the region, the Bay proved once again it knows how to come together for sports. Bay FC’s own Jordan Silkowitz and Caroline Conti were right in the middle of the festivities on Super Bowl Sunday. With momentum building, Bay FC is ready to provide more match day excitement at PayPal Park.
Reason 12
March 14 is the first competitive expression of a rebuilt identity with new coaching staff, new tactics, new international arrivals and a refreshed energy looking to both develop and win. The pieces are coming together — show up and see what the 2026 NWSL season will be about.
