The 2025 NWSL season isn’t quite over, but Bay FC is getting ready for one last home match at PayPal Park this year. The club will end the season the only way it knows how: with a celebration of Bay FC’s essential 12th player.
This Friday night at 7 p.m. when Bay FC plays 9th place North Carolina Courage, the club is transforming PayPal Park for Fan Appreciation Night, presented by PNC Bank, with exclusive prizes and giveaways. Fourteen-year-old singer-songwriter Lily Welcker will deliver a stunning performance of the National Anthem. Also, throughout FanFest, she will perform upbeat pop covers chosen by the fans themselves. Lily has performed for audiences at events across the country, including the Boise Ironman and major university athletic games.
The Pride of the Spartans, the San José State University Spartan Marching Band, will proudly represent the spirit of San José State. The band will celebrate the power of women in music and beyond with a halftime performance inspired by strength and confidence.
The Syndicate Dance Team will be on hand to share their love for dance. Syndicate is a professional dance team based out of San Jose whose name refers to a group of individuals from different walks of life who come together for a specific purpose.

Action on the Field
Bay FC’s Fan Appreciation Night promises plenty of competition on the pitch. In North Carolina’s most recent match, they earned a 1–1 draw against the Washington Spirit. The result brought their season record to 7 wins, 9 losses and 8 draws, placing them ninth in the NWSL standings.
When Bay FC met the Courage earlier in the season, Bay FC came out on top with a 1–0 victory. The lone goal came from a stunning long-distance strike by Kiki Pickett, assisted by San Jose native Joelle Anderson. Bay FC will look to replicate that performance and finish their home campaign on a high note.
Keep an eye on Bay FC rookie Taylor Huff, who has scored in each of the last two matches and appeared in every game this season. In addition to her recent two-goal streak, Huff has tallied two other goals, marking an impressive debut season. Goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz is also a key player to watch. She has been nominated multiple times for NWSL Save of the Week, including for her most recent standout stop against Seattle Reign FC, showcasing her skill and consistency between the posts.
Fans should also watch for some of North Carolina’s standout players. Midfielder Manaka Matsukubo continues to be a top-notch performer this season. The midfielder, recently named a finalist for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Youth Player of the Year Award, leads the Courage with seven goals and four assists. On the defensive side, Courage’s Kaleigh Kurtz is a cornerstone for the Courage. In their previous match, she surpassed 10,000 consecutive NWSL regular-season minutes and holds the NWSL record for consecutive regular season minutes, matches and starts.
