The Origin
Bay FC and Oaklandish are two organizations that represent the vibrant pride, grit, and creativity of the Bay Area. Both have been committed to similar work, perfecting their craft across two industries.
Bay FC has spent its first three seasons building supporters across the nine counties of the Bay Area. Oaklandish has spent over two decades producing apparel that reflects and represents Oakland’s authentic character. When the two organizations sat down to collaborate, there was not much negotiating to do about values — they already shared them.
What came out of that alignment is a collection of women’s soccer apparel that reflects both brands clearly and, perhaps more importantly, reflects the Bay Area and its communities.
Good design is one way to honor a region, but investing in it directly is another. Oaklandish donates at least 2% of annual revenue to nonprofit and community partners each year, which means that buying from this collection puts money back into the local neighborhoods, organizations, and people.
How the Collection Came Together
Bay FC’s creative team and Oaklandish spent months pushing past directions that felt too familiar before arriving at something that felt right for both brands. The decision to work fully within Oaklandish established aesthetic — oversized fits and loud designs — was a new direction for Bay FC, and an exciting one to lean into.
The final collection includes six pieces, three tees and three sweatshirts. Two styles feature back graphics that draw from some of the Bay Area’s most recognizable landmarks, including Jack London Square, the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower, and Treasure Island. Two hoodie options lean into a bold logo-forward design to capture the unique energy filling PayPal Park on a Bay FC matchday.
The Pieces
Tees
The Varsity Tee is an oversized navy essential with a full-chest Bay FC screen print in warm red that is bold and clean. A collab lockup on the left sleeve ties it back to the partnership that made it possible.
The Flora Tee leads with a Bay FC logo layered over an intricate Poppy flower illustration on the left chest. The back opens up into a full-size Poppy graphic that spreads across the whole canvas.
The Jubilee Tee is produced in enzyme-washed natural cotton that feels broken-in from the first wear. The front keeps it simple with ‘Bay Football Club’ on the left chest, while the back brings together soccer imagery and Bay Area coastal culture in one considered composition.
Sweatshirts
The Jubilee Crewneck carries the same spirit as its tee counterpart into a heavier weight. Natural cotton-polyester blend, “Bay Football Club” on the left chest, and a full back graphic that fuses soccer culture with the Bay Area coastline.
The Camo Hoodie brings a street-ready look to the collection with an all-over earthen camo print and oversized Bay FC initials across the chest in a natural tone. The rugged, oversized fit gives it a lived-in quality that works on and off matchday.
The Leopard Camo Hoodie is an all-over leopard print sweatshirt with a Bay FC wordmark arched across the chest in warm red and a logo on each side of the chest that works subtly against the pattern.
April 17 Is Where It Starts
The collection makes its debut as the Collection of the Match at Bay FC’s home match against Ottawa Rapid FC on April 17.
