SAN JOSE, Calif. (Oct. 23, 2026) – Bay FC heads to SoCal this weekend, visiting in-state rival Angel City FC Saturday, Oct. 24 from BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. It’s the 15th and final road match of 2026 for Bay FC ahead of the close of the season Nov. 1. Kickoff is set for 5:45 p.m. PT, and the match will broadcast live on ION as the nightcap of an NWSL doubleheader.
Bay FC can play spoiler this weekend, as a victory would send Angel City to Decision Day with its playoff fate uncertain. Last week, the club showed well against a Portland side right in the playoff race, coming back from an early deficit to take a second-half advantage. The club will look for a second straight unbeaten result as it aims to close the season on a high note and set the stage for 2027.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Bay FC midfielder Kennedy Fuller: Fuller will take on her former club for the first time since joining Bay FC this weekend and does so following a stellar performance in Week 25. Her 67th minute tally earned a nomination for Goal of the Week, marking her second goal with the club and first in front of home supporters.
Angel City FC defender Gisele Thompson: Coming off an international window where she appeared twice for the U.S. Women vs. Spain, Thompson was named NWSL Player of the Week for her performance in an eventful 3-2 win vs. Denver last week. She assisted two of her squad’s three first half goals, her third and fourth of the season.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT
Angel City hosts Bay FC this week amid a run of stellar form, entering Saturday’s match unbeaten since Aug. 31 and having scored the most goals in the league in that span. The club has conceded just three goals since Sept. 20, but all three have come in the last two matches. Contribution has come from all across its roster this season, as 16 different players have tallied at least one scoring contribution. At the top of that list lies Icelandic forward Svendis Jonsdottir with nine goals and three assists.
The Southern California side’s Week 25 matchup at Denver was an eventful one featuring five goals in the first half and a notable amount of hostility by the end. Denver went up 2-0 before Angel City roared back, scoring three unanswered before the halftime break, and all in a 11-minute span. The victory gave Angel City a bit of distance from the playoff line, but just four points separate the club from ninth place with two games to play.
HONORED AMONG THE BEST
Following last Sunday’s match vs. Portland, Bay FC forward Karlie Lema was nominated for NWSL Player of the Week and Assist of the Week, and midfielder Kennedy Fuller was nominated for NWSL Goal of the Week. Lema’s 33rd minute assist of midfielder Caroline Conti, her first of two on the day, earned the nomination and helped her side equalize. Sunday’s match vs. Portland marked Lema’s second time this season with multiple scoring contributions in a single match. Fuller put Bay FC ahead with a stellar strike in the 67th minute, beating Portland’s goalkeeper with a curling shot off the post and into the top left corner.
HEAD-TO-HEAD HISTORY
Bay FC leads the all-time fixture against its in-state rivals with three wins to two defeats in NWSL play. The two clubs also met in NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup action in 2024, and in friendly action last July. Angel City has taken three points in each of the last two meetings between the clubs, but Bay FC won each of the first three, and all were in shutout fashion. At BMO Stadium, each club has claimed a victory, with Bay FC winning its first-ever match there in 2024 before Angel City won last season’s matchup in SoCal.
