Bay FC (3W-8L-0T; 9 pts) travels to take on the Chicago Red Stars (5W-5L-1T; 16 pts) on Saturday, June 8 at 4:30 p.m. PDT. Saturday’s historic match at Wrigley Field will be the first professional women’s soccer match at the venue in 80 years.
Both teams are returning from international break. Chicago’s Mallory Swanson and Sam Staab joined the USWNT for a pair of friendlies against Korea Republic, while Natalia Kuikka represented Finland and Sydney Schneider received a call-up for Jamaica.
Bay FC had three players called up for international duty during the break: Scarlett Camberos for Mexico, Savy King for the U.S. U-20 team and Lysianne Proulx for Canada. Camberos started in both friendlies for Mexico, including playing all 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Canada on June 4. King got the start in the U.S. U-20’s May 31 3-0 win against South Korea, where the U.S. continued preparations for the upcoming U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
Bay FC will be looking to bounce back after the international break and on the hunt for their first road win since March 17 against Angel City FC.
