Bay FC was proud to welcome five families from the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) to the Military Appreciation Match on Saturday, July 18. This national nonprofit partners with professional sports organizations – including teams across the NWSL, WNBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and MLS – to create meaningful experiences for families of fallen service members.
Throughout the match, the families were treated to a VIP experience that included pre-match warm-up viewing, custom Bay FC jerseys and swag bags, on-field recognition honoring their loved ones, and a meet & greet with seven Bay FC players in a private suite where they enjoyed the game. The players in attendance included defenders Abby Dahlkemper, Heather Gilchrist, Joelle Anderson, Anouk Denton, Alyssa Malonson, and Emily Menges as well as midfielder Taylor Huff.
As one TAPS family shared afterward: “I can’t make any more memories with him, but this was one of the best events I have attended in honor of him.”
