Although you may be more familiar with Kelli Hubly as a veteran defender for Bay FC, she’s also a huge dog lover who enjoys spending her time with her Rottweiler Duke. She rescued Duke from San Jose Animal Shelter after hearing he was going to be euthanized in a TikTok video.
Reactive by nature, Duke is in training with the folks at RFRD Academy, an organization based in San Jose that provides training, boarding, daycare, grooming and other services for rescued pets. They partner with local rescue organizations, like those present at Saturday’s game — Adopt My Block, San Jose Animal Advocates, Every Pet’s Dream, Rocket Dog Rescue, and California Bully Rescue — to give dogs like Duke a new home and a second chance at life.
