Bay FC defenders Alyssa Malonson and Sydney Collins shared the joy of reading with local youth and their families at Story Time at the San Leandro Main Public Library on Monday, June 29. As part of the Bay FC Summer Reading Program Presented by Ross Stores, this was the first of four Ross Reading Events taking place across the Bay Area this summer.
With more than 100 local youth and their families in attendance, the players celebrated summer reading by reading stories, leading a fun stretch break, doing a Q&A and closing out with photos and autographs. What a fun way to combine literacy, learning, and community with your favorite soccer stars!
For the third year in a row, Bay FC and Ross Dress for Less have partnered to support reading and literacy programs for Bay Area youth. They’re connecting with public libraries across the region to promote their summer reading programs, share their favorite stories and share the importance of learning throughout the year – yes, even on break!
