From World’s Fair Setting to San Francisco’s Newest Neighborhood
The story of Treasure Island is the story of San Francisco — a city and neighborhood that has always been a place of transformation.
Originally constructed for the 1939-40 Golden Gate International Exposition, Treasure Island is now being transformed into a pioneering new community in the Bay Area. The development of Bay FC’s training center represents this next phase—repurposing historic land and a strong community of residents into a hub dedicated to the future of women’s sports.
Positioned between San Francisco and Oakland, the facility sits at the literal and symbolic center of the Bay, connecting communities, cultures, and generations of athletes.
