NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup 2024

Get ready to kick off summer with the inaugural NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup! In this groundbreaking new tournament, Bay FC hosts two thrilling home matches against Angel City FC and Club América and travels to face San Diego Wave FC in the group stage. Don’t miss your chance to witness a new chapter of the Bay vs. LA rivalry, plus a first-ever match against Liga MX Femenil giants Club América!

Schedule

In the group stage, Bay FC will participate in three matches: one away match in San Diego, and two home matches at PayPal Park. There are five groups in the tournament. The top four group winners with the most points at the end of the group stage will advance to the knockout stage, which will consist of a semifinal round and a championship match.

Bay FC, the new women’s professional soccer franchise representing the Bay Area in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), announced today that tickets for the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup will go on sale beginning tomorrow, Thursday, May 9, with exclusive presale events, before becoming available to the general public beginning Tuesday, May 14 at 10 a.m. PDT.

San Diego Wave FC

SAN DIEGO WAVE FC
San Diego Wave FC began playing in the NWSL in 2022. in 2023, the team won the NWSL Shield. On the field, the club is represented by established international stars like Alex Morgan, Naomi Girma, Maria Sánchez, and Kailen Sheridan, as well as bright young talents such as Jaedyn Shaw.

Angel City FC

ANGEL CITY FC
Angel City FC began playing in the NWSL in 2022 and calls BMO Stadium in LA home. The ownership group includes stars like Natalie Portman, Mia Hamm, and more. Their exciting roster consists of New Zealand captain Ali Riley, NWSL veteran Sydney Leroux, and LA local Alyssa Thompson.

Club América

CLUB AMÉRICA
Club América Femenil was founded in 2016 and competes in the Liga MX Femenil, the highest level of women’s soccer in Mexico. América Femenil has won the Liga MX Femenil title twice. The team is captained by Mexico women’s national football team star Kiana Palacios and includes talents such as Karen Luna.
