Bay FC scored three first half goals and picked up the club’s first road victory in nearly a year with Saturday’s 3-1 triumph over hosts North Carolina Courage at First Horizon Stadium. For the second time in three matches, 18-year-old Alex Pfeiffer contributed two scores, converting Bay’s first goal of the match in the 20th minute and assisting the club’s final score with a beautiful cross to set up a Dorian Bailey header. Keira Barry also scored her first NWSL goal with an assist from Italian star Cristiana Girelli, her second straight match with an assist. Bay FC took a 3-0 lead into halftime and only a second half score from reigning NWSL Midfielder of the Year Manaka Matsukubo kept Bay from posting a clean sheet. With wins in two of the first three matches of the season, Bay FC will come home to host the Washington Spirit on Sunday, April 5, in what will be the club’s Hello Kitty Match at PayPal Park.
