Bay FC returned from a month-long break in the NWSL regular season and played to a 2-2 draw with Boston Legacy FC on Sunday at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Bay FC controlled the pace early and struck first when Alex Pfeiffer – playing in her first match with Bay FC since April 5 – drew a penalty in the box on Boston goalkeeper Casey Murphy. Claire Hutton converted the penalty kick for her first-ever NWSL goal, giving Bay FC a 1-0 advantage in the fifth minute. Not long after that, Hutton led Karlie Lema down the pitch with a long pass, and Lema found the back of the net for her first score of the season. After Bay FC dominated the action early, Boston rallied in the latter part of the first half and got a goal back in extra time off the foot of Amanda Santos. Boston would then tie it up on a penalty kick from Aissata Traore in the 78th minute. From there, both teams threatened multiple go-ahead scores but the match ultimately ended in the second draw between Bay FC and Boston this season.
