New recognition program celebrates Bay Area leaders advancing innovation, opportunity and community impact
SAN FRANCISCO (Sept. 22, 2026) – Bay FC and Founding Partner PNC Bank today announced the launch of Business Playmakers presented by PNC Bank, a new recognition program honoring Bay Area business leaders whose innovation, leadership, and commitment to community impact are helping move the region forward. Becca Van Dyck, Chief Marketing Officer of Airbnb, was named the inaugural Business Playmakers honoree, presented by PNC Bank.
Business Playmakers presented by PNC Bank reflects a shared commitment from Bay FC and PNC to recognize leaders who create opportunity, strengthen local communities and help drive economic growth across the Bay Area. Through the new program, Bay FC and PNC will celebrate individuals whose work is making a meaningful impact across the region.
Van Dyck was recognized during halftime of Bay FC’s September 20 home match against Racing Louisville FC. Van Dyck received a custom framed Bay FC jersey and was celebrated alongside Bay FC and PNC Bank leadership.
“Business Playmakers presented by PNC Bank celebrates the people whose leadership creates meaningful impact beyond their organizations,” said Bay FC President Bernard Gutmann. “Becca embodies the spirit of this program through the innovation she leads, the opportunities she helps create and her connection to the Bay Area. We are proud to recognize Becca as the program’s inaugural honoree.”
Van Dyck has spent more than three decades building some of the world’s most recognizable brands. She began her career at Wieden + Kennedy, where she helped take Nike’s “Just Do It” global, and went on to lead marketing at Apple, Levi Strauss & Co. and Meta, where she later served as Chief Operating Officer of Reality Labs.
A founding investor and board member of Bay FC, she is also an owner of San Francisco Signal, the Bay Area’s new professional women’s volleyball team, an investor in the women’s sports bar, The Sports Bra, and a member of US Soccer’s National Women’s Network. She sits on the boards of The New York Times, Mercy Corps and Civic News Company, and still plays competitive soccer every Sunday.
“Becca has built something at global scale and kept the Bay Area at the center of that work,” said Megan Schoettmer, PNC Regional President, Northern California. “PNC operates the same way. We’re a national bank with local focus, and what we support in Northern California is led by people who believe in Northern California. Business Playmakers presented by PNC Bank is a way to recognize leaders who use their position to make room for others here.”
The launch of the Business Playmakers presented by PNC Bank and the recognition of its inaugural honorees mark the beginning of what Bay FC and PNC Bank intend to be a recurring program recognizing business leaders across the Bay Area.
