Bay FC drops close result on the road 1-0 against Orlando Pride

Orlando, Fla. (May 11, 2024) – Bay FC surrendered a penalty kick in the first half, but were unable to find the equalizer, falling 1-0 on the road to the unbeaten Orlando Pride at INTER&Co Stadium on Saturday night. It marked the first time this season Bay FC have been held scoreless in a match after tallying a goal in their first eight matches.

Goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland helped keep Bay FC within striking distance throughout the evening, recording a career-best nine saves. She surpassed her previous single-game best of six saves – a mark she matched on four other occasions during her NWSL career. Bay FC’s best chance to level the match came off a set piece in the 62nd minute when Kayla Sharples’ header off a corner kick just missed from close range.

Goal-Scoring Plays
ORL – Adriana (penalty kick), 33rd minute: Barba Banda was fouled near the top of the box on the left side and Orlando was awarded a penalty kick. Goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland dove her right and nearly got a touch to the shot, but Adriana fired a low, hard strike into the bottom left corner of the goal.
