San Diego, Calif. (April 27, 2024) – Bay FC surrendered a late-second half goal, falling 2-1 on the road to San Diego Wave FC at Snapdragon Stadium. Asisat Oshoala notched the lone goal for Bay FC, registering her second goal of the 2024 campaign. With her goal, she is now tied for the team lead in goals with Kayla Sharples.
Trailing 1-0 in the second half, Oshoala leveled the match in the 48th minute, converting a rebounded shot off the crossbar. Bay FC pushed for the game-winning goal, outshooting San Diego by a margin of 13-4 in the second half, but it was San Diego that found the late goal in the 78th minute to claim the three points in the match through a goal from Jaedyn Shaw.
Bay FC scored for a sixth straight match, and are one four teams (North Carolina, Orlando, Kansas City) to tally a goal in all of their matches this season. Bay FC finished the match with 22 shots, recording 15 or more shots for a fourth straight game. It also marked the second time the club has registered 20 or more shots in a contest this season.
