Bay FC launches Bay It Forward Community Impact Program, Extending the Club’s Reach into Bay Area Communities

Team-Wide Volunteer Event with Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula for Over 200 Youth Kicks Off New Community Impact Initiative

SAN FRANCISCO (June 16, 2025) – Bay FC today launched an all-new community impact program, ‘Bay It Forward’, designed to make a lasting impact across the Bay Area. Bay It Forward is Bay FC’s flagship community impact arm, which aims to provide access to sport and create leaders in the community. Through the program, Bay FC will deliver memorable matchday experiences for underserved, marginalized, and underrepresented communities, provide access and leadership programming through player appearances and partner activations, build legacy through leaders in the community with player and staff volunteer efforts, and further local non-profit work through ticket and experience donations.

To kick off the program, the entire Bay FC roster, along with members of staff, visited the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula at Garfield Community School in Menlo Park Monday, June 16. With over 250 local students ages 5-12 in attendance, players from up and down Bay FC’s roster provided an afternoon of soccer programming and activities and participated in a special Q&A session with the group to close the afternoon. The event served as the first of many to come under Bay It Forward.

“We were founded as a player centric and community focused Club,” said Bay FC Executive Vice President of Communications, Community Impact, and Public Affairs Lisa Goodwin Scharff. “Bay It Forward is designed to support underserved and marginalized communities by providing access to sport and building leaders in our community. Today’s event is a great example of our club’s commitment to the local community with our entire roster showing up and supporting those who show up for them week in and week out.”

Bay It Forward will continue the Club’s ongoing community impact work since its inaugural season while expanding its reach into the community even further. In Bay FC’s inaugural season, the Club hosted 5,000 community members from over 75 different organizations to matches and hosted player and Bay FC events in all nine counties of the Bay Area. In 2025, Bay FC has hosted over 2,500 community members from over 70 local organizations.

Bay It Forward will also provide access to sport and support leadership programming alongside Bay FC corporate partners.

Bay FC forward Racheal Kundananji and Oakland-based Soccer Without Borders are also teaming up to lead community programming in support of Kundananji’s nomination for the 2025 Lauren Holiday Impact Award, announced in May. Club employees are also volunteering at Treasure Island Food Pantry, located on Treasure Island where Bay FC’s Sports Performance Center is planned to open for the 2027 season. Additional Bay It Forward events will be announced throughout the season.
