Bay FC signs defender Maddie Moreau 

Former West Virginia player signs through 2024 with an option for 2025 season

San Francisco (March 15, 2024) Bay FC, the Bay Area’s new women’s professional soccer franchise in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), has signed defender Maddie Moreau to a contract for the 2024 season with an option for the 2025 campaign. 
 
Moreau went undrafted in the 2024 NWSL Draft and joined Bay FC for preseason training camp after concluding her college career at West Virginia. She began her career playing at LSU from 2019-21 before transferring to play for the Mountaineers for her last two seasons (2022-23). At West Virginia, Moreau started and played in 41 matches, recording two goals and three assists. She helped the team win the Big 12 Championship and earn an NCAA Tournament berth in 2022. From 2019-21, Moreau played in 56 matches (46 starts) at LSU, earning second team All-SEC and All-Freshman team recognition in 2019.
