Bay FC Transfers Forward Racheal Kundananji to Chicago Stars

Bay FC receives $700,000 in transfer fees from Chicago

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Oct. 8, 2026) – Bay FC announced today that forward Racheal Kundananji has been transferred to the Chicago Stars in exchange for a transfer fee of $700,000. The Zambian forward will report to Chicago when she returns from international play.

“I am grateful to Bay FC for bringing me to the NWSL and giving me the opportunity to be part of this club from the beginning,” said Kundananji. “I love playing football, and the love I have received from the club and the supporters since I arrived has meant so much to me. Thank you to my teammates, the staff and everyone who supported me during my time here. To the Bay FC fans, thank you for welcoming me and cheering me on. I will always appreciate my time here and the memories we shared.”

An original member of Bay FC’s roster, Kundananji departs as the club’s all-time goal scoring leader with 12 goals in 63 appearances for the club.

“We thank Racheal for her contributions to Bay FC during her time with the club,” said Chief Football Officer Paul Green. “As a member of our inaugural roster, she was part of important moments in our first seasons. We wish her all the best with the Chicago Stars and in her future.”

Bay FC is off this week as the NWSL pauses for the FIFA international window, with nine Bay FC players currently representing their home countries in international play. The team returns to action Oct. 18, hosting the Portland Thorns for 2 p.m. PT Sunday matinee. Tickets are available at BayFC.com/tickets.
