Bay FC, Midfielder Tess Boade Agree to Mutual Contract Termination

Thank You Tess Boade

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Aug. 19, 2026) – Bay FC announced today that the club has agreed to a mutual contract termination with midfielder Tess Boade. A member of the club’s inaugural roster and captain in 2025, Boade will depart the club after three seasons and 47 regular season appearances.

“Tess has been an important part of Bay FC and an inaugural player during our expansion era and we’re grateful for her contributions. We wish Tess every success in the next chapter of her career,” said head coach Emma Coates.

“Across my three seasons with Bay FC, I have made some amazing memories and crossed paths with some special people,” said Boade. “I will always remember our incredible inaugural season, making history together and our exciting playoff run. Thank you to the fans for your unwavering support through all the highs and lows. I’m excited for what comes next, but the Bay Area will always have a special place in my heart.”

Boade joined Bay FC as one of the club’s three expansion draft selections ahead of the 2024 season. She tallied three goals and two assists during her time in the Bay Area, including the assist on Bay FC’s first goal in club history, the match-winner March 17, 2024 at Angel City FC.

Bay FC returns home to PayPal Park this week, hosting the Houston Dash Sunday, Aug. 23 for the club’s Black Heritage match. The club will also celebrate its nominee for the 2026 Lauren Holiday Impact Award presented by Nationwide, midfielder Hannah Bebar, and the incredible community work of Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. PT, and the match will broadcast live on CBS Sports Network+. Tickets remain available at BayFC.com/tickets
