SAN JOSE, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2026) – Bay FC heads to Colorado for a midweek contest Wednesday, visiting expansion side Denver Summit FC from Centennial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. PT, and the match will broadcast live on NWSL+. The contest is Bay FC’s second of three in nine days, following Saturday’s match at Seattle.
Bay FC will look to rebound from three straight defeats. The club was on the doorstep for the bulk of its weekend meeting at Seattle, doing well to manage an eventful match on both ends of the pitch. An in-form side lines up on the other end this week, with both teams looking to surge back into the playoff picture.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Bay FC forward Cristiana Girelli: The Italian has found her comfort zone with Bay FC in recent weeks, leading the club in total shots since its Aug. 23 win over Houston. She’s continued to help her club create opportunities as an aerial threat and with excellent hold up play, which could help Bay FC earn a result against a Denver team that found itself under pressure at times last week.
Denver Summit FC forward Yuzuki Yamamoto: Yamamoto has scored in three straight games to help her club to a three-match unbeaten run. She scored Summit FC’s first goal vs. Angel City FC last week and also assisted a goal in her side’s 6-1 rout of Chicago Aug. 29. She’s quickly made a name for herself since coming over in July from Japanese side Tokyo Verde Beleza.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT
Denver enters this week on a three-match unbeaten run and with just one defeat in its past six matches. The club has scored in bunches of late, netting 12 goals in its last three matches and seeing eight players record multiple scoring contributions in that stretch. After a six-score outing against Chicago Stars FC, tied for the most by any team this season, Summit has netted three in each of the last two weeks.
The club played to a 3-3 draw Friday at Angel City FC, an eventful contest that saw four of six goals scored in a 15-minute span in the second half. After going down at the end of the first half, Denver flipped the match on its head and took a 3-1 lead at the hour mark before its hosts scored twice to level. The week prior, the club shut out NWSL Shield leaders Gotham FC in a shocking 3-0 upset win.
WEEK ONE REMATCH
Wednesday’s matchup marks the first meeting between Bay FC and Denver since the two sides met in the 2026 season opener. In that match, Bay FC scored early, with forward Alex Pfieffer netting the opener in her club debut. She added an assist later on, when Joelle Anderson netted the eventual winner in the 31st minute. Denver finished the contest with ten players after defender Janine Sonis was shown a red card for a foul in the 27th minute. Denver’s captain had provided the assist on the first goal in Denver history seven minutes earlier.
FULLER CARRYING THE FLAG
Bay FC midfielder Kennedy Fuller scored a hat trick in international play Saturday, helping the U.S. U-20 National Team best New Zealand and secure a spot in the knockout round of the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland. The squad continues its quest for a global title Wednesday, taking on Brazil from Katowice, Poland. Kickoff is set for 6 a.m. PT and the match will broadcast live in the United States on FS2. With a victory, the U.S. would take on either Spain or Portugal in Saturday’s Quarterfinal round.
