On Thursday, June 25, Bay FC celebrated the installation of the final structural beam of the new Performance Center on Treasure Island, a major step towards the facility opening ahead of the 2027 season. This is another milestone of the project that will usher in a new era of player development and high performance in women’s sports.
Players in attendance include goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz, midfielder Claire Hutton, and forward Alex Pfeiffer, as well as Bay FC Co-Founder Leslie Osborne, and Head Coach Emma Coates. All Bay FC players and staff also commemorated the moment by signing the beam following training the day before the ceremony.
Later this fall, pitch installation will commence as three training fields will be added to support daily training and player development. (Follow the journey on Instagram.)
Built in partnership with the City and County of San Francisco and the Treasure Island Development Authority, the privately funded project will be the first women-specific training facility for a professional sports team in the Bay Area. Centered literally in the middle of the Bay, with sweeping 360-degree views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the East Bay, the facility will redefine what it means to support athletes both on and off the pitch.
