Bay FC forward Onyeka Gamero and midfielder Caroline Conti bridged soccer and reading at Story Time at the Northside Branch Library in Santa Clara on Tuesday, July 14. This was the second of four reading events in the Bay FC Summer Reading Program Presented by Ross Stores, where players promote summer reading programs and youth literacy with local youth and families. Extending the love of soccer across the page, Gamero and Conti read two soccer-themed books to young athletes, followed by posing for photos, signing autographs, and connecting with the community members in attendance.
Bay FC and Ross Dress for Less have partnered to support reading and literacy programs for Bay Area youth for three years running. They’re connecting with public libraries across the region to promote their summer reading programs, share their favorite stories and share the importance of learning year-round.
