Bay FC fell 1-0 to reigning champions Gotham FC on Wednesday night at PayPal Park during the club’s inaugural Hip Hop Night. Gotham FC tallied the only score of the night in the second minute when Midge Purce converted off a corner kick from the visitors. Bay FC’s Kennedy Fuller appeared to equalize five minutes later, but the goal was disallowed following a VAR review. Goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz kept Bay FC in the match with nine saves and the returns of Abby Dahlkemper (maternity leave) and Taylor Huff (foot injury) gave the club some feel-good moments, but ultimately Bay FC suffered their second straight 1-0 defeat. Now 5W-8L-3D on the season, Bay FC will look to bounce back on Saturday when they host Seattle Reign FC.
