Bay FC Acquire Argentine Forward Agostina Holzheier from Primera Division A League’s Racing Club

SAN JOSE, Calif. (July 31, 2026) – Bay FC announced today that the club has acquired Argentine forward Agostina Holzheier via transfer from Primera Division A’s Racing Club. The Crespo, Argentina native has signed a four-year contract through 2029, with a fifth-year option, and will be added to the club’s roster following receipt of her P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate.

“I’m delighted to welcome Agostina to Bay FC,” said Emma Coates. “She is an exciting, tenacious and creative player who will bring quality and intensity to our squad. Agostina has a competitive mentality and playing characteristics that fit what we are building at Bay FC. I’m looking forward to seeing her make an impact for our club and supporting her development over the coming seasons.”

“I’m very happy and proud to join Bay FC,” said Holzheier. “This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step in my career, challenge myself in a new league and represent a club with big ambitions. I’m coming with a lot of energy, ready to work, learn from my teammates and the staff, and give everything for this team and its supporters. I can’t wait to get to the Bay Area and begin this new chapter.”

Holzheier joins the club following three-plus seasons with Racing Club, based in Avellaneda near Buenos Aires. She made her debut in first team football in 2016 at her hometown club, Unión de Crespo, before joining River Plate in 2021, helping the club claim the 2022 Copa Federal, Argentina’s national cup competition. After a brief spell with Brazilian side Gremio in 2023, she returned to Argentina with Racing, helping the club to a second-place finish in 2024. In 2026, she’s scored seven goals in league play, ranking as one of the league’s top scorers and helping her club to the top of the table in Apertura play, the Primera Division A spring season.

Holzheier has represented Argentina at the senior international level since 2021. She helped La Albiceleste punch its ticket to next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil earlier this year, assisting the game-winner in her side’s June 10 win over Ecuador. She was a member of Argentina’s roster stateside at the 2026 SheBelieves Cup, as well as at last summer’s Copa America Feminina, where her squad placed third after a penalty shootout victory over Uruguay in the match for third place.

Bay FC closes out its busy stretch of three matches in eight days Saturday, August 1 against Seattle Reign FC. Kickoff from PayPal Park is set for 5:45 p.m. PT, and the match will broadcast live on ION. Tickets remain available at BayFC.com/tickets.
