Bay FC Midfielder Claire Hutton Named to United States Women’s National Team Roster for April Friendlies vs. Japan

Claire Hutton has been named to the United States Women’s National Team roster for the upcoming April international window.

Hutton and USWNT will take the pitch at PayPal Park in San Jose Saturday, April 11

SAN JOSE, Calif. (April 1, 2026) – U.S. Soccer announced today that Bay FC midfielder Claire Hutton has been named to the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) roster for the upcoming April international window. Hutton and the USWNT will host Japan in a series of friendlies starting April 11 at PayPal Park in San Jose, with following matches set for April 14 in Seattle and April 17 in Commerce City, Colo.

Hutton’s selection is her third by the U.S. in 2026 after joining Emma Hayes’ squad for friendlies against Paraguay and Chile in January and the 2026 SheBelieves Cup in February and March. She has recorded four caps (two starts) with the senior squad in 2026 and became the USWNT’s youngest-ever captain at 20 years old vs. Paraguay Jan. 24.

Hutton signed a new five-year contract with Bay FC March 26, keeping her with the club through the 2030 NWSL season. She’s started her Bay FC career strong, ranking among the league leaders in tackles won (9), duels won (27) and interceptions (8), helping her new club claim two wins in three matches to start the season.

The United States and Japan’s April series comes just weeks after each squad claimed a trophy. Japan secured a continental title after its victory over Australia in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup final March 21 in Sydney, also punching its ticket to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The U.S. won its eighth SheBelieves Cup title with three wins over Argentina, Canada and Colombia during the previous international window in March.

The two sides will kick off the three-game set in the Bay Area at PayPal Park in San Jose Saturday, April 11 (kickoff at 2:30 p.m. PT on TNT, truTV and HBOMax in English and Universo and Peacock in Spanish). Action will head north to Lumen Field in Seattle Tuesday, April 14 (kickoff at 7 p.m. PT on TNT, truTV and HBOMax in English, Universo and Peacock in Spanish), before wrapping up Friday, April 17 from Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. (6 p.m. PT on TNT, truTV and HBOMax in English, Universo and Peacock in Spanish). All three matches will also be available in English on the radio on Westwood One. The match in San Jose will be presented by The Home Depot, and the match in Seattle will be presented by Allstate and held in conjunction with the 2026 SheBelieves Summit, set to feature Bay FC CEO Stacy Johns.

Hutton and Bay FC are back in action from PayPal Park this Sunday, April 5 as the Washington Spirit visits the Bay Area. Bay FC will celebrate its Hello Kitty Match, offering an exclusive Hello Kitty ticket bundle available while supplies last at BayFC.com/tickets. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. PT and the match will broadcast live on ESPN2. Visa is Bay FC’s preferred way to pay for tickets.
