SAN JOSE, Calif. (Sept. 22, 2026) – Bay FC, in partnership with Pebl, has announced that defender Sydney Collins has been selected by Canada Soccer to its Women’s National Team roster for the upcoming October international window. Collins will join Les Rouges for a pair of friendlies vs. Denmark Oct. 9 and Oct. 12.
Collins has represented Canada at the senior international level since 2023, last joining the squad in June as it traveled to Costa Rica for friendly action. She’s been named to her nation’s senior squad throughout 2026, including at March’s SheBelieves Cup vs. The United States, Argentina and Colombia.
Bay FC’s captain, Collins has appeared in all but one match this season, recording over 1,900 minutes in regular season play. The former Cal Bear tallied her first career assist in March against the North Carolina Courage, adding her first career international goal later that month in SheBelieves Cup play vs. Colombia.
Canada will take on Denmark for a pair of friendlies, Oct. 9 from Stade Saputo in Montreal, Quebec, and Oct. 12 from BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario. The October international window is the final opportunity for Canada and other North and Central American squads to prepare for this fall’s 2026 Concacaf W Qualifiers in November, which will serve as qualification for both the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™ and the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
Collins and Bay FC are back in action Sunday from PayPal Park as the club welcomes the Orlando Pride to the Bay Area. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. PT, and the match will broadcast live on ESPN.
