Five More Bay FC Players Selected to National Team Rosters for Upcoming October International Window

Called Up, Presented by Pebl

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Oct. 2, 2026) – Bay FC, in partnership with Pebl, announced today that forward Keira Barry (ENG), defender Aldana Cometti (ARG), forward Cristiana Girelli (ITA), forward Agostina Holzheier (ARG), and forward Racheal Kundananji (ZAM) have been selected to their respective national team squads for the October international window running Oct. 5-12. Barry will join the England U-23 National Team, Cometti and Holzheier will join Argentina, Girelli will join Italy and Kundananji will join Zambia as international play resumes across the globe.

Barry will rejoin the England U-23 national team as it takes on Norway from York in friendly action Oct. 12. It’s her first selection to a national team roster since April, when she earned her first senior national team call-up for the Lionesses World Cup Qualifiers vs. Spain and Iceland. The Congleton, England native has shown well in her debut NWSL campaign, scoring two goals across 20 appearances and 605 minutes.

Cometti and Holzheier will join Argentina for a pair of friendlies vs. rival Brazil. A clash between South American powers will commence Oct. 10 in Porto Alegre for the two sides’ first meeting, and close Oct. 13 from São Lourenço da Mata. Both represented La Albiceleste as it secured a spot in next summer’s Women’s World Cup in June, helping their squad finish second in CONMEBOL Nations League play. Cometti joined Bay FC in March, making her club debut March 28 at North Carolina, and has appeared in 19 matches (17 starts) with one assist across over 1,400 minutes. Holzheier has appeared in five matches for Bay FC since joining the club via transfer July 31.

Girelli will join Italy as her national team squad enters the play-off phase of qualifying for next summer’s World Cup. Le Azzurre will take on Belarus in a two-legged tie, playing Oct. 9 in Tbilisi, Georgia and Oct.13 in Florence, Italy. The winner in aggregate scoring across both matches secures a spot in the final playoff round in November and December, determining the final teams from Europe to qualify for the World Cup. Girelli is one of her nation’s most decorated senior internationals all-time, ranking in Italy’s Top 10 in career caps (132) and goals (62).

Kundananji will join Zambia as it lines up opposite Uganda to open qualifying play for the 2028 Summer Olympics. She last featured for Zambia at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in July and August, appearing in two matches and tallying one assist. Kundananji returned to the scoresheet in the club’s most recent match with a diving header score Sept. 27 vs. the Orlando Pride. She’s scored three goals and tallied two assists for Bay FC in 2026 across 17 appearances.

Bay FC plays its final match ahead of the October international break this Saturday as the club visits the Kansas City Current at CPKC Stadium Oct. 3. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. PT, and the match will broadcast live on ION. The club plays its next home match Oct. 18 against Portland Thorns FC, tickets remain available at BayFC.com/tickets.
